Somewhere in America, every 2 minutes, a woman is raped. National surveys of adults suggest that between 9-32% of women and 5-10% of men report that they were victims of sexual abuse and/or assault during their childhood.
Despite the fact of these harrowing tragedies, our ever vigilant efforts as a society, and of what we now know as the “#MeToo” movement- We still witness such a confounding and painfully small reduction in the frequency by which these ghastly atrocious acts against another occur. Often feeling the shocking pull of rape culture.
Enough is enough. Our answer- Become the solution.
Our guest today- Amelia Zachry, knows all-to-well the painful scar left on ones soul as victim of rape and sexual assault. Having experienced for over twenty years, the trauma first hand trauma inflicted by this most handouts and horrific act. Her struggles of overcome such adversity and the stigma are never-ending, yet today, she has found the light to prevail.
